Welcome to Coral Springs

Coral Springs is a city in South Florida, located in Broward County and is often referred to as “the City in the Country”. Officially chartered on July 10, 1963, Coral Springs was initially developed by Coral Ridge Properties, a division of Westinghouse. Prior to it’s incorporation the city was part of a huge tract of land acquired by Henry “Bud” Lyons between the years of 1911 and 1939.

According to Stuart McIver Westinghouse Electric Corporation acquired Coral Ridge Properties so that they could use the new City as an “urban laboratory to evaluate new products, such as a home utility center, home sewage disposal systems, an infrared heating system, full electric kitchens, and central air-conditioning and heating systems.”

The city saw annual rises in population growth in the 1970s, 1980s, adding over 35,000 residents each decade. During the population boom, Coral Springs added nineteen public schools, a regional mall, shopping centers and parks. The Coral Springs Covered Bridge was the first structure built in the city, constructed back in 1964.

The city has a very distinct aesthetic appeal and there are numerous codes and restrictions that the city has implemented in order to maintain that. Restrictions include commercial signs, recreational vehicle and boat storage, roofing materials, exterior paint colors, and landscaping specifications which are all strictly enforced. Coral Springs is a very desirable place to live and has won accolades for overall livability, low crime rate, and its family-friendly orientation.

When the Sawgrass Expressway was built in 1986, Coral Springs experienced even more growth. CNNMoney.com listed Coral Springs as the 44th best place to live in the United States back in 2010.

Although it does not boast any professional sports teams, Coral Springs has more than 25 amateur sports leagues. Coral Springs is a part of the Miami-Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood media market and has two newspapers, the Coral Springs Forum and Our Town News. The “Our Town” Festival has been held since 1979 and draws thousands of people every year with it’s best years coming in 1984 (100,000 attendees) and in 1990 (estimated 200,000).

Coral Springs is a considerably attractive place to live and visit. The appeal has directly impacted the Coral Springs real estate market and, in particular, the Coral Springs homes for sale market which has a vast inventory of attractive properties.

Businesses operating in Coral Springs often lean on Miami marketing company Elite Rank Media for all of their Miami SEO needs. They turn to this company so that they can improve their visibility in the Coral Springs market as well as the Florida and national markets as well.
